The Daiken Sound Showroom:
Undoubtedly this season's "Best of Show. This is a showcase of Daiken's massive research into sound absorbing materials that combine traditional Japanese techniques and materials like Tatami and Washi, except for the modern home of today's audiophile.
Besides having the necessary sound properties, the materials have to be hazard proof as well
While these panels are unassuming at first glance, a closer look yields little dots/ holes. Combined with sandwich layering of proprietary materials, It makes every panel reflect and absorb just the right amount of sound for a pleasant environment.
Daiken also built two studios to exhibit their varying levels of sound isolation and acoustic tuning for home theaters, studios, music rooms, etc.
This simple but ingenious setup explains the importance of acoustic treatments even in cafes, restaurants and office spaces.
Ultimately, these need to be integrated into a home so they're not obtrusive, the mark of a good acoustic treatment is to have its existence completely forgotten but thoroughly enjoyed.
